JAZZ (2nd Grade and Up)
Taught to today's popular hits, jazz is fun for all ages! Required shoes: Tan leather split-sole jazz shoes. (Capezio ej2 or Bloch so401). Required Attire: Jazz pants or shorts, leotard, tank top, t-shirt are all acceptable.
POINTE (by invitation)
For the intermediate to advanced dancer who is ready for more of a challenge. By invitation only, these classes require two ballet/pointe classes per week. Required Shoes: Dancer preference. Required Attire: Leotard, tights, dance skirt or bootie shorts. Warm-up attire can be work for the first few minutes of class.
TAP (1st Grade and Up)
A fun form of dance that develops timing, rhythm, and coordination. Required shoes: (Black Capezio 625, Intermediate and Up: Black Bloch so301L). Required Attire: Jazz pants or shorts, leotard, tank top, t-shirt are all acceptable.
SENIOR SOLO (by invitation)
For our graduating seniors interested in performing a special piece in the spring show. Seniors will be contacted during first quarter. This is not a regular class but a mentorship ensuring our graduating seniors have everything in order for their performance in the spring show. Required Shoes: Dancer preference
A performance group made up of Studio 2's middle school aged jazz students. Stars perform throughout the year including a variety of venues during the holiday seasion and opening and closing our spring show in May at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. Required Shoes: Teacher preference. Required Attire: Same as jazz.
IRISH (Ages 8 and Up)
A style of performance dance with its roots in traditional Irish dance. It is generally characterized by a stiff upper body and quick and precise movements of the feet.
Required shoes: Black leather split-sole jazz shoes. (Capezio ej2 or Bloch so401). Required Attire: Jazz pants or shorts, leotard, tank top, t-shirt are all acceptable.
CONTEMPORARY (8th Grade
An interpretive form of dance, incorporating ballet, jazz, and modern technique. An accompanying ballet class is hightly recommended. Replaces Lyrical. Required Shoes: Teacher Preference. Required Attire: Ballet or jazz attire is acceptable.
(Preschool; Ages 3 to 5)
For our youngest dancers! This pre-ballet class readies a young dancer for his or her first ballet class, learning basic motor skills and patterns while working together as a group. This class can be taken for 2 years. Required shoes: pink ballet slippers. (Bloch 205). Required Attire: Leotard, tights, dance skirt, bootie shorts, t-shirt are all acceptable.
